Copycat Starbucks Keto Pink Drink

This sweet and creamy keto Starbucks copycat drink is so easy to make at home. Perfectly light and refreshing, and did I mention, it’s pretty and pink!

Have you heard about the famous pink drink at Starbucks? Have you tried one and thought to yourself “oh my goodness, where have you been my whole life?” Yeah, that happened to me too. It was love at first sip, I tell ya.

Then reality sat in. I paid over $4 for a glass of iced tea. What?! It didn’t taste so great after that. If you didn’t already know this about me, I like to save money! I love coffee shops for the ambiance but I cringe when I see the prices, especially when I know what it really costs to make those drinks. Some (my mother) say I’m too practical, but I’d rather spend my money on fun stuff like vacations, manicures, and date nights!

When you go through the Starbucks drive-thru on the way to work, you’re paying (literally and figuratively) for the convenience. Well, I’m here to tell you that you can make an entire pitcher of your favorite keto pink drink at home for the same cost as one 16 oz pink drink at Starbucks.

What is the Keto Starbucks Pink Drink?

If you’ve never had a pink drink, let me enlighten you! It’s iced passion tea with a splash of cream and a few pumps of sugar-free vanilla syrup. Seems pretty basic, right? Wrong. It’s magic in a cup. You will literally marvel at this delicious keto creation with heart eyes.

This drink is half-way between iced tea and frappuccino. It’s the refreshing, hydrating consistency of tea with the sweet, creaminess of a frappuccino. A winning combination if you ask me!

Is the Pink Drink From Starbucks Keto Friendly?

Disclaimer! The “pink drink” on the Starbucks menu is not keto! The official Starbucks version of the drink is an iced, strawberry-acai beverage made from a tea base with accent of passion fruit, coconut milk, and freeze dried strawberries. It’s full of refined sugars, and therefore high in carbs.
The recipe I’m sharing now has been dubbed the “keto pink drink” on Instagram. It’s not on the menu at Starbucks, so if you go in and order a “keto pink drink” they’ll have no clue what you’re talking about. Technically, you could order something close to a keto pink drink from Starbucks, but you’d have to recite a recipe with very specific ingredients. So why not save your barista the confusion and make your own at home!

A step by step guide to make your own keto pink drink at home. Save carbs and money!

Ingredients needed to make a keto pink drink

With the exception of water, these are the only 3 ingredients you need:

  • Passion tea – Make sure you buy the box of passion tea bags and not the concentrated passion tea at the grocery store. The concentrated stuff has sugar in it!
  • Heavy cream (can substitute for almond milk or coconut milk)
  • Sugar free vanilla syrup

How to make a keto pink drink

Since this “recipe” isn’t really a recipe at all, I’m just going to walk you through the steps.

  1. Brew the tea according to the directions on the package. For me, that meant steeping the tea bag for 5 minutes in 1L of boiled water, then pouring over 1L of cold water.
  2. Mix-ins! You can customize to your preference here. I like to add 1 tablespoon of heavy cream and 2 tablespoons of sugar free vanilla syrup. I recently experimented with adding a tiny splash of sugar-free raspberry syrup and it took this keto pink drink over the moon, if that was even possible.
  3. Stir, stir, stir! The goal is to really emulsify the heavy cream in the cold tea. It will want to separate, even as you drink it. You can either throw everything in a mason jar, screw the lid on tight, and shake the fury out of it OR you can stick everything in a blender and give it a good swirl. If you go with the blender option, you can even add some ice to turn it into a frappe!

P.S. Another reason for making this at home is that you can control your carbs much more easily! Macros for this will vary based on how much heavy cream you use, what brand of syrup you use, and how much syrup you use. The tea itself doesn’t have any carbs!
